BEDNAR!!!!

This week was super exciting and we had Elder Bednar come to our mission to do a mission tour!!! Ahhhh I was so excited.  Since my new area is so far away, we got to go sleep over at one of the other missionaries house the night before and then we woke up at 4 and traveled to Busan so we could meet President Bednar!!

It was super fun and I learned so much from his talk he gave to us.  The biggest thing that I learned though it that we need to act on our prayers.  We can pray as much as we want, but if we don't act and do our very best to fulfill our prayers Heavenly Father isn't going to help us.  So I have learned that I need to do as much as I can, and then Heavenly Father will help me with what I can't do on my own.

We also started decorating for a Halloween party that we are going to do with the branch so I am super excited about that and you will hear all about it next week!!

See if you can find me!!

TRANSFERS!!!

This week has been an exciting week first off I got TRANSFERRED out of 밀양(miryang) :( I am so sad.  It was so hard for me to leave, but I am following the Lord right now and great things are going to happen.  I got transferred to 안동 (andong).  I am super excited about this, apparently it is 1/3 of the mission... it's huge and it's all country!!!  So that means I will be harvesting a lot this transfer for the members so I am super excited about this!!!  My new companion is Korean and she doesn't speak much English ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so excited because hopefully my Korean will improve so much this transfer!!

Last week I went on exchanges with Sis. Thornly and it was so much fun.  I went to mason with her. And we did a lot of proselyting and I was able to go to her English class with her.  Which was super fun.  There was so many people there and I ended up just teaching the cutest girl (she was so cute) the alphabet and then I taught her head shoulders knees and toes.  It was so much fun!

I also found Dr. Pepper here in Korea and I was so excited because it's in KOREA!!!  So my week was made!

So for our last day in 밀양 we went over to our branch presidents house and had dinner.  And they are some of my favorite people in Korea.  They had this grill and they just kept cooking meat for us... like 10 packages of meat and then they also made a chicken casserole and they kept feeding it to us because it's American food.  It was super good, but every time I finished a piece another one came on, and if I didn't eat I was told to eat.  It was so funny one of the other elders and I that were leaving ended up eating 8 piece of casserole each.  I really don't think I have ever been that full in my life.  I was about to throw up.  But because it was them I would do that any day.  So before we left the elder and me that were leaving shared Joseph Smith's first vision and then our testimonies of Joseph Smith and we had the kids do the same, the spirit in that house was amazing.  Such a good family!!!
BYE have a good week

TYPHOON

This week has been super exciting!  The biggest thing that happened this week was we had a TYPHOON on Wednesday!!  So because the typhoon was so big we were not allowed to leave our house in the morning!  It was crazy we really didn't know what to do because we had to cancel all of our plans for the day!!  Once we were able to leave the house, we were told that had to go pick up trash the whole entire in p-day clothes!  We were super excited!

Also this week I wore my glasses one day instead of putting contacts in and nobody recognized me!! It was so funny.  We went to a restaurant by our house for kim-bob and they lady who knows us asked me if I was a new person.  And then she freaked out when I took my glasses off.  Even one of the members in the ward didn't recognize me!!  So just like in the movies I found out that if you put glasses on it really is a good disguise!!!!

We also watched General Conference this week which was super fun!!!! Because one of the elders and I listen to it in English they put us in a different room then everyone else (don't worry we could still see our companions haha) and we listened to it while our branch listened to General Conference in Korean.  And it was so funny I am pretty sure we had everyone in the branch come in and talk to us because they were bored.  We also kept getting food from them so Conference was like a party. But it was also a spiritual party.  I learned so much and I have so much I need to work on so that I can become a better missionary.  I hope you all have a chance to listen to it.  Have a good week!!

DEAD things

This week has been a busy week.  We started off the week going and visiting one of our less active members.  She is in her 90's and she lives alone in the middle of nowhere.  And the only reason she is less active is because she lives so far away.  So we took an hour long bus ride and then walked 2 hours to her house.  The entire walk to her house it was pouring and we were finding dead frogs on the road. They were everywhere.  And my companion and one of the elders were freaking out, because they have never seen frogs in their life or dead animals.  Ahh so funny.  They are both from Seoul and apparently they don't have animals there at all.  Once we got to her house she didn't answer the door or her phone. And we all started to worry because we tried to visit her last week and she didn't answer then either.  So we were all thinking she was dead!  We decided we better go and check and make sure she wasn't dead because we are the only ones that ever visit her.

So after searching for a while we found a door that was unlock and we made the elders go inside because we didn't want to find a dead person.  And it turns out she is NOT DEAD!!!!  We were so happy!  They house was empty.  So after a lot of phone calls we found out she was in Busan visiting family for a month!

On Sunday we also went on a Guitar and Banana bread tour!  So we had a lot of members not show up to church on Sunday so we decided to go and do a quick visit to them giving them banana bread and my companion singing you are my sunshine to them.  And it was so funny because we found out that old Korean people do not like you are my sunshine.  Every member that we sang it to them, told us they didn't like it and that we should come back next week with a better song.  So we are going to go again next week with a different song!!  But because of our guitar and banana bread tour we got two member referrals from them!  And we haven't gotten a member referral here in over a year so we are super excited for that!!

Love you all and hope you enjoyed conference!! I get to watch it this week in English and I am so excited about that, it is like Christmas for me!!!
love you!!
