i got kicked off the island!

Last week because it was Mothers Day I got to Skype my mamma, but because it was also transfer day and I got transferred, I wasn't able to email anyone last week.  I think being transferred from Jeju is one of the worst things that has happened to me on my mission, I was literally heart broken.  I have come to love everyone in that area so much and it was so sad to leave and leave my companion kim min su.  But I know that the Lord has bigger things in store for me in my new area.  But everything is good.  I got transferred to 호계(hoegay) and 신정 (shin jong) area.  So I am now over two areas and it is just a little more stress and a lot of names to remember.  But everything is going great!  I have a super cute new companion, park da jin,  from Seoul and I am follow up training her.  And we are just loving life and doing the Lord's work.  This week we were suppose to meet an investigator at the church, but we got punked.  Since they didn't show up, instead we went and ate this dock bokie that is the hottest of its kinda with the youth at the church and it was super fun.  It's like a noodle dish with red sauce.  But I really never want to eat it again.  But everything is good!!

Saying goodbye to members in Jeju

Easter!!

Happy Easter!
This week for Easter we went to our American family's house in the ward with two of our investigators and had Easter dinner with them.  It turned out to be a day full of miracles!  The first one was one of our investigators came to sacrament meeting for the first time ever with her daughter!  We have been trying to get them to come, but because they have ballet class and violin class they haven't been able to come, but because it was Easter they were able to come!  Then later that night when we were having dinner with them the little girl told us she wanted to be baptized!  So we were all super excited about that.  We then taught an Easter lesson and it ended up being all the kids in the house teaching us about why the resurrection is so important!  So we couldn't have had a better night!  Today we went and visited a chocolate museum which was really funny.  So it was just one room filled with things next to pieces of chocolates.  For example they had a nativity scene on top of gold chocolate coins, or they had a vase that they said you could put chocolate in if you wanted.  It was a really funny museum.
We also went on a really cool hike with our Relief Society in our ward this week and we were able to see the Jeju divers!  So that was really cool!

A kind sister from Sister Lee's mission sent me these photos through Instagram.  She said, "She is amazing and we all love her!"  I asked Sister Lee about her and she said, "she is a super cute girl from the Philippines here who is a member. She makes the best bread recipes and they are all super healthy and super good!"

This was a fun surprise to get!! I sure love and miss that redhead!

Baptisms

Sorry for the delay, we had Zone conference this week which pushed my pday to Tuesday instead of Monday.
This week has been a week of incredible things!
So to start off this week we had a baptism!  We have been working as a team with the Elders helping one of our part-member's son, 김은주,  learn about the church and this week he got baptized!  We were all super happy that we have helped this family get one step closer to becoming sealed in the temple together!  After the baptism we had a BUNCO night with the ward and it was super fun!  It was so funny all the members were getting in to it and I think we will be playing a lot more bunco later on because they loved it so much!
More big news, one of our investigators, 임민유, is getting baptized in 2 weeks and we are so excited!  She is the cutest lady and she really truly is changing.  She said when she first met the missionaries it was like a ding happened in her head and that it was telling her that this is the church she needs to go to!  She is making so much progression and I feel like she is already a member!!  I could go on about how much I love her, but I don't have the time!
We also went and ate sushi this week and it was super good.  They serve sushi here in Korea it is so good and I don't think I have ever eaten more in my life!  It's really cool they serve it here on a conveyer belt and you just grab the one that you want!
I am just doing really good right now!  The Lord is blessing us here in Jeju and we are seeing so many miracles and we are so busy!  We barely have time to do anything, it is super fun!  Well I love you all! Have a good week!

ups and downs

Things I have learned on my mission;

This week has been really interesting.  The first thing is the investigator that had a baptism date this week dropped us out of the blue.  And at first we were really heartbroken and it was so sad seeing her give up something that would give her so much happiness.  But I know God has a plan with his timing, so later on she will remember the gospel and how much it helped her in her life and she will return back to it.
Another thing we did it was we went on exchanges and it was a blast.  So where I live in Jeju it is all Chinese people on vacation.  So we have been trying to figure out how to talk to Chinese people.  And this week we have found some simple english, a few chinese words, pictures, and with lots of help from the Spirit we are able to talk to them.  And it is amazing!  They are so willing to listen to us and they want to learn more.  So now we are emailing all of these Chinese people and it is amazing how the Lord is working through us.  We also promised one of our investigators who is 10 that if she prays every single night she won't have nightmares.  And we have been praying that this little girl will pray and have no nightmares.  And I am happy to say prayers work!  This little girl had no nightmares every single time she prayed!  We were so happy!  It really was just a huge miracle for her, showing that God is there and that he loves her and is looking out for her.  Well I hope you have a good week. Mexican food and Chinese

Can I just say that I love Korea and that I especially love Jeju!
So this week we have been so busy running around from appointment to appointment that we have been super tired, but it has been amazing!  We have one investigator this week who has been progressing a lot and has stopped drinking coffee and is trying her best to follow all of the commandments so were super exited for her.  And we also have one investigator whose heart was completely closed to the gospel in the beginning, but has completely changed.  And she is wanting to know about God and is wanting to come to church and help others come to church so were completely excited over that.  And we are giving her a baptism date tonight so we are super excited about that!!  We are also having a lot of fun trying to figure out how to talk to all the Chinese people on vacation here in Jeju.  So we're getting messed up between English, Korean, and Chinese.  So sometime we are saying three different languages in one conversation and it's just getting really confusing, but we're having so much fun!  We also found a Mexican restaurant here and it was amazing.  I have missed tacos and chips and salsa!  Have a good week!

Massages

This week has been one of the best weeks on my mission so far!!  There have just been all these miracles we are seeing, people wanting to get baptized, helping people get to the temple, it  has just been really good!
So funny story that just happened.  Earlier this week we met a lady on the bus who stopped us and told us she wanted to learn english and that she would give us free massages for it.  Well my companion has a really bad back and we have been trying to find a masseuse for her and so this was a really big answer to our prayers.  So today we set up an appointment to go and meet with her and so my companion could get that massage.  But it turned on her.  So we first walked in and there was this oriental man sitting there with a ponytail just listing to zen music.  We really had no idea what was going on.  So we started talking to him and then all of the sudden they told us their priest was coming,  and we are so confused.  So they made us go into this massage room and there was a priest sitting there...... and he asked if we can pray.  So we prayed together and then he asked if we came prepared to learn about Christ... and my companion's face and mine were so confused.  We tried to tell them that we were here to teach them about Christ, but obviously we don't think they understood.  So we told them that we had another appointment and that we really needed to go and then we left as fast as week could.  And it was really just awkward and it was just super funny.

But this week has been super good we are seeing miracles every single day and it's amazing!  I don't think I have ever met more prepared people in my life.  It's amazing to see how the Lord has prepared people here on the island of Jeju.

Plane rides...

The reason why I didn't email yesterday is because I got transferred!  It was really sad for me to say good bye to all of the members in Andong and especially our new investigator, but I am really excited about this next transfer!  So I got transferred to Jeju!  Look it up!!  I am super excited about it.  Jeju is an island off of Korea and I had to take a plane ride yesterday to get to my new area!  It's a super pretty island with palm trees and I get to see the ocean everyday so I am super excited about that!  It's way more city than my last area which I was in the country.  My new companion is Sister Kraymer from Portland Oregon.
So last week in Andong we had a lot of our members have birthday parties and let's just say there was a ton of karaoke and people dancing.  My companion and I just sat there and ate dinner while they did these things.  We also kept meeting with our new investigator (김예숙) kim yeah sook and we met with her every single day.  It was amazing!!  She has so many questions about the gospel and she knows everything we are teaching is true and she is trying to apply it in her life every single day.  I really can't say how amazing she is.  So on my last day in Andong she invited us over to dinner to eat and she taught me how to make Korean food and it was super fun.  We also met her husband and he was totally supportive of us teaching her which was even better.  I really hope that she will continue to learn and grow in the gospel and I was so sad to leave her, but I know Sister Feinga will be there to teach her and help her learn about the gospel.  Love you all!!
