grandmas and too much food!

This week has been an adventure!  We started off this week going on exchanges with our STL's and it was super fun. We did a lot of proselyting and I got to go and meet one of their investigators who is super cute.  She is 70 years old and she is loving the gospel.  She is reading the Book of Mormon everyday and she is praying.  She is so cute and it was such a fun experience to meet her and help teach her about the commandments.  It just showed me that no one is too old to change and accept this gospel!!
I don't think I have ever eaten so much good in my life until this week.  It started out with going over to some members' house and eating meals with them the first couple days this week. (And when you go to members houses you get a lot of food.)  But then one day we went and ate lunch with a member and then immediately went to another member's house for an appointment.  And this member is known for giving missionaries a lot of food.  And if you don't eat all the food she thinks it means she is a bad cook.  So you eat all the food she gives you!  And she come out with this huge bowl of this spicy noodle stuff and gives us a huge overflowing bowl (about the size of a volleyball) to my companion.  And then to me she gave this huge bowl of a full chicken in a broth with potatoes and a little bowl of the spicy noodle stuff.  So we started eating it and I got half way through my soup and I finished my noodles and I looked over at my companion and she couldn't eat the spicy noodles because it was to spicy for her hahaah.  So we switched bowls and I ate all of her noodles and she finished off the little bit of soup that was left and we thought we were good, but then she came out with even more food............ and I think my companion and I turned white.  So we ate that food and then she came out with a whole watermelon and cut it up for us to eat it all.  And I really don't think I have ever felt so full it was disgusting!!  I ended up throwing it all up in the bathroom because it was just too much food and then later that night we went and ate even more food at another member's house............. I am still full and that was 4 days ago!!

HEY Cutie where you from?

This week I ate a lot of cuties.  In Korea it is cutie season, so we have gotten A LOT of cuties from members and strangers so we are constantly eating them and they are so good!!  Yesterday we went to go knock doors at this huge apartment building and on our way to one of the buildings I started talking to this Grandma and she invited us in to her house to come and eat!  So we went into her house and she started to talking to us and she told us that she goes to the church right next to us and she is contently reading the Bible.  We found out that she had read the bible 7 times last year and that she is continuing to reading the bible!  She gave us a ton of cuties to eat and also a ton of jello to eat. And she didn't have any interest in meeting again so we left and on our way out we started talking to this other grandma and she invited us to her house to drink milk.  So we went into her house and she fed us milk, cuties, chocolate, apples, and Carmel!!  Ahh I was so full cause right before we went and knocked doors we had lunch with our branch and they fed us a ton of food.  But this lady was interested in the gospel and interested in learning more, so we got her number and were going to go back and visit her again!!
I also this week gave a talk in Korean in our ward on tithing.  It ended up me just reading of a piece of paper for 7 minutes but they understood me so... it was good.
We also went on exchanges this week and it was super fun!
Sorry I don't have much time to write, I have little kids around me asking me a bunch of question so I have to get off!!

Grandmas

This week has been a fun week.  It is starting to cool down here, so we're not sweating as much. Which is super nice.
This week while we were looking for a less active member's home, we saw this grandma watering her plants and asked her if we could help.  And she just told us to follow her.  So we followed her into her house and she just started feeding us.  She was giving us this drink that took over 3 years to make. And then bread, and cucumbers (whole huge cucumbers), potatoes, and a ton of tomatoes... so many tomatoes.  And she just kept feeding us and we really had no idea what was going on because she just kept telling us to eat.  So we finally got her to talk to us and she was telling us because we were kind to her, she wanted to be kind to us.  It was just so sweet!  And we got her to let us help...but it's in November and she said we could come back and help her make kimchi, but both Sister Gomez and I most likely won't still be here then.  So we were sad about that, but we are going to try and move that date up.

We also met another grandma when we were out proselyting.  And she started talking to us super fast and in a thick accent and she kept looking at me and smiling.  And I couldn't understand her at all, and all of the sudden my companion turned to me and told me to answer her and I had no idea what was going so I said yes... it turns out she wanted me to marry her 40 year old son.  And I agreed to marry him!  And she was telling us that we can force him to come to church with us.  Only if I marry him.  And she got our number from us because one of our cards.  So she is going to call us so we can set up the date. We are going to try and refer him to the elders.... haha

This week in Korea it was super hot then the next day it was cold and we are so excited. Because now it's just raining and cold so we are having so much fun being outside.

We also had stake conference this week and our recent convert got to see how big the church really is. It was a super good experience for her and we got to see all the missionaries in our Zone which was fun.
