magical cockroach

So this week had been a week full of crazy adventures.  The first thing that happen was one of our investigators moved to Australia and is now trying to meet the missionaries there!  So we are super excited that she is continuing to meet with the missionaries!!
The next thing is we got to go hiking with one of our investigators form the Philippians.  She is so cute and she wanted to take us on a hike so we could have our weekly "prayer session" on the top of the mountain and it was super cool hike with all of these boulders everywhere.

The next thing that happened is it is getting super hot in Korea again.  And our AC is broken, so we have been having fans on all night to keep us cool.  And one night it was super hot so I went to get another fan.  And I didn't have my glasses on and I saw this black thing move... So I went and got my glasses on and this huge cockroach came out of nowhere and it was in our laundry room.  It is so big!!!  So my companion and I decided we had to kill it before we went to bed.  So we took everything out of the laundry room and would throw it out our door and we couldn't find it!  So we decided it was in our suitcases so we would take one of them out at a time and dump everything out and we still couldn't find it.  WE TOOK EVERYTHING OUT AND IT WAS NOT THERE!!  We have no clue where it was.  We decided it must of gone down the drain.  So we went to bed and then randomly it showed up again!!!!  The next night!  And so we did everything again and we still can't find that stupid cockroach!!  It is so bad!!  So yeah... the magical cockroach.
We also started teaching a new investigator through Skype.  She is too sick to leave her hospital and no one can visit her.  So we are teaching her through Skype and it's super interesting, we will see how it will go!!
It was also transfer day today and I got a new companion!!  She is super cute  and from Utah and I will send a picture and more info next week! Love ya!

Pictures!!

This week has been full of rain and wind and they do not mix.  It has been super fun, we have gone through a couple of umbrellas and have had a lot of laughs.  This transfer is going to be super fun.  My new companion is (김민수 kim minsu).  And she is the cutest Korean!  We are STL's on our island, so that means we will be taking a lot of airplane flights this transfer!  We were suppose to take a flight this week for a meeting in Busan, but because of the fog our flight got delayed for a couple of hours.  So we were trying to find a new flight and it ended up that the Elders and us were running around the airport for a couple of hours and on the phone with our AP's trying to find a flight.  The Elders were able to get a flight, but.... we weren't able to get one.  So we ended up just Skyping into the meeting which was also eventful.  We couldn't hear what anyone was saying so we had to call them and have them hold the phone up to their mouth so we could hear.  It was really funny meeting, but we are glad that we got to attend the meeting!  This week we were finally able to watch General Conference with our ward.  Because my companion right now is Korean we did a split with the members.  So while my companion was watching General Conference with the members, I watched it with all of our English Elders in a different room.  Which was super fun!  I learned a lot this General Conference and I learned that General Conference is so personal for everyone.  No matter who you are or where you are, it applies to you.  You can always learn from it and progress in the gospel.  For p-day we went to a optical illusion museum and a Greek museum and it was super fun.  So I hope you all enjoy a ton of pictures!  I love you all!! ​

Fishing and Transfers!!‏

This week some pretty big things have happened.  The biggest one is transfers!!  I have been in Korea for 12 weeks now ahhhhh!!! So I am still staying in my area, but I got a new companion today!! She is from Seoul and she is a super cute Korean.  It's going to be so fun serving with her!!
This week because of transfers we went and visited a lot of people to tell them one of us was going and one was staying.  We went and visited a lady from our english class and her son.  And they are my favorite!!  When we got there her son meet us at the bus station.  Once we got to there house  Anjongeh had made chicken for us and had a ton of stuff for us to do together planned!  So once we had eaten Anjongeh comes out with this black corn still on the cob.  And she looks at me and said, "Make popcorn."  I didn't know what to say.  I looked over at my companion and we just laughed and said, "Okay we'll try."  First we tried taking the corn off the cob and putting it in the microwave, but it didn't pop for some reason and we just ended up burning her bowl.... oppps.  So after the popcorn.  She told us we were going to go fishing.  And she pulls out these two fishing poles.  And I have never seen fishing poles like them before.  They just kind of extended over 40 feet when you held them downwards.  And then on the end there was just like a tiny red string.  So we asked her how to use them.  And she told us "I don't know, you two are fishing experts figure it out".... and we just started laughing and said okay.  So somehow we got a hook on the end of the pole and we went fishing.  And it was so funny.  She doesn't like worms so she gave us this play dough like bait stuff to put on the ends of our poles, but once it touched the water it would dissolve.  So we just kept putting it on the hooks because "we no like worms" haha.  We didn't catch any fish, but it was okay because they are just so fun to be with.  And talking to them in their broken English is best thing.
I also had a meeting with our recent convert.  And she taught me slang the whole entire time.  So now I have been using slang and it just so fun.  My favorite thing is when grandmas tell me I'm pretty I tell them "You shouldn't fly a plane" And I have no idea what it means exactly, but they love it when I tell them that.

Dear Brother & Sister Lee,

Sister Jayne Ann Lee arrived in the Korea Busan Mission on June 14, 2016.  Sister Barrow and I had the choice opportunity of greeting your daughter at the airport and welcoming her to Busan.  Even after a lengthy flight, she is in good health and spirits and we look forward to serving with her.  She is a fine young missionary and will be an asset to the mission.  We have been anticipating her arrival and it was wonderful to meet her.  We will care for her as we would for one of our own as she labors in the mission field.  We understand the concerns, hopes and prayers of priesthood leaders and loved ones.  We want each of the missionaries in the Korea Busan Mission to have a rich, growing and successful experience.  Be assured that should a time of special concern arise, I will notify you immediately.

Enclosed are three photographs: (1) a group picture taken at the airport upon arrival; (2) a photograph of your daughter with Sister Barrow and me that was taken the day after she arrived; and (3) a photograph of your daughter with her first companion, Sister Shannon Gomez, from Hau’ula, Hawaii.  Your daughter has a good attitude and a desire to serve the Lord.  We spent time together and had an opportunity to visit privately together in the Mission Home.  We are grateful for her worthiness and for her willingness to serve, and we pray that the Lord will bless and strengthen your family through her service.

Missionary work in the Busan Mission is new and exciting, and our missionaries find great rewards in serving the Lord here.  Sister Lee will learn much about herself, our Savior Jesus Christ and His gospel as she serves with all her heart, might, mind and strength in the Lord's work.  She will come to understand her role as a disciple of Christ. (3Ne. 5:13)

We thank you for your support and ask you to write regular encouraging letters and send faith promoting experiences to her. We know that as Sister Lee works with all her heart, might, mind and strength she will have a most amazing missionary experience.  We know you will experience the miracle that is missionary work through your daughter’s fine diligent efforts.
